The Cost of Training Propane Training Institute courses are sold primarily to certified Trainers or Examiners, at the off-the-shelf prices as listed in our web pages describing PTI courses. A few self-study courses can be sold directly to students. Listed PTI prices include a student manual, the exam or competency checklist, and the cost of certification for the student upon successful completion. The official certificate (Record of Training) will be produced for students by the Propane Training Institute. For most courses, the price for a student is set by the PTI Trainers and Examiners offering the course. Their price may be higher or lower than the PTI off-the-shelf price. When discussing your training needs, please consider the following factors that affect the price you will pay for training. Number of students – the cost per person is affected by the total number of people to be trained. Method of Training – the final cost per person is dependent on whether the student has utilized self-study materials or if the course will be taught in the traditional classroom format. While many of our courses are instructor-led only, some, such as our newest courses (Hose Testing, Securement) do not require delivery by certified PTI Trainers and Examiners. They come with a competency evaluation checklist instead of the standard practical and hands-on exams. Cost of Materials – the off-the-shelf prices listed on our website represent the cost of materials for each student, which includes a student manual, an exam or competency checklist, and official records of training. Venue – in some cases, a venue for the training will be required. Location – there may be travel expenses incurred by the Trainer or Examiner to get to your location. Customization – courses can be customized to meet your company requirements. We can add your company specific information and, if desired, your company logo to materials. The price of customization is negotiable, and intended only to cover costs.
